Article from the Leicester Mercury on Old Dalby Day 2004, the first for John Lincoln as organising committee chairman. Tyler Simpson (7) can be seen marching with the Melton Tally Ho Band. Clemency Patman & Gemma Hill are pictured in fancy dress and Charlotte Bates is captured playing one of many games held on the day. Approx. £3,000 from the proceeds of the day went to local causes, including Church Restoration fund, scouts, village cricket club, school and youth club.

Article from the Leicester Mercury, 2004, presenting David Ayres with a special 'thank you' from local residents, for his two decades of tireless work as chairman of the Old Dalby Day Committee.
David handed over the chairmanship to fellow villager John Lincoln at a celebratory dinner in Asfordby. This year's Old Dalby Day was attended by more than 6,000 visitors, as far afield as Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire. The classic car rally, organised by John & Mary Finch, attracted 150 entrants.
