Article from Melton Times, Thursday August 31 2000 'Old Dalby celebrates: Thousands raised in Millennium event but… Theft of charity cash ruins happy day'. Donations totalling more than £100, intended for Romanian orphans, were stolen from the church. The crime was reported to the police and overshadowed what had been an enjoyable day. Highlights of the day had been a display by members of the Melton Tae Kwon-do Club and a display by the Stapleford Falconry Centre. Pictured are Adam Thurlby (11) and Jamie Haynes (12) enjoying the day. Alex Schmidt (10) makes the most of the day abseiling.
